After months of research and testing, we have new safe, effective tools to fight COVID-19 — vaccines. In Massachusetts, vaccines will be distributed in phases, and we encourage you to get vaccinated as soon as it is available to you.

Who Is Eligible to Receive the COVID-19 Vaccine?

Massachusetts is currently in Phase 2 of its vaccine rollout plan. Residents 65 and older, and those with two or more certain medical conditions are eligible to receive the vaccine in Massachusetts. You don’t need a doctor’s note or medical records to confirm your eligibility. 

How to Get Vaccinated

  • If you are a recent patient of a Beth Israel Lahey Health hospital or affiliated provider, learn more about vaccine availability for our patients.
  • There are many other ways to get vaccinated, including through one of the state vaccination sites and retail pharmacies. Check the state’s searchable directory for more information.

Early in the COVID-19 health emergency, the sharing of resources and supplies among hospitals and health systems was critical in the pandemic fight. Speaking to the importance of collaboration, Kevin Tabb, MD, President & CEO of Beth Israel Lahey Health, noted how BILH shared ventilators with Boston Medical Center during the first surge, and more recently, received vaccines from another system, helping to prevent the cancellation of appointments.
